Tours and Tastings
"Binding his foal unto the vine, and his ass's colt unto the choice vine; he washeth his garments in wine, and his vesture in the blood of grapes; His eyes shall be red with wine, and his teeth white with milk" (Genesis 49: 11-12) – was the blessing by Jacob to the land of Judah.
The tour begins in the tourist vineyard and you will learn different vine growing methods. We will continue to the archeological garden where we will take a step back into ancient times and learn about ancient wine traditions and will view a reconstructed Shomera (a building in which grapes were stored during the harvest period). We will then visit the wine production gallery and learn all about the wine making process.
Our wine bottle label series commemorates stories from the past as well as significant items from the Gush Etzion region. Throughout the tour we will introduce the labels and share meaningful stories and historical points behind them. We will end the tour with a selection of wines for tasting and enjoy an interactive experience that is filled with aromas and flavors that are unique to the grapes from the Gush Etzion hills.
The tours take place daily, by appointment only, Sunday through Thursday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., and Fridays from 9 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
The tour is around 45 minutes long and includes wine tastings (some visitors prefer to have the tastings as part of their meal). The cost of the tour is 25 NIS per adult, and 10 NIS per child.
